Course Overview

This course is a great way to start a career in community services. This qualification reflects the role of entry-level community services workers who support individuals through the provision of person-centred services. Work may include day-to-day support of individuals in community settings or support the implementation of specific community-based programs.

It is an ideal qualification for someone looking to gain employment as a Financial Capability Worker and meets the minimum qualification requirements as set out by Department of Social Services.

Skills Recognition

If you think you have skills that are part of this qualification, you are welcome to apply for Skills Recognition.

Skills Recognition is a formal assessment process that measures the candidate’s skills and knowledge from previous study, training, work, or life experiences against the outcomes of the qualification in which they are enrolled. Skills may be recognised in the following ways:

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – previous qualifications, prior and current work experience
  • Credit Transfer (CT) – for units with the same code gained in previous qualifications

Students can apply for skills recognition for units in the Certificate III Community Services once enrolled in the course.
